He had heard me say that there were a couple things that I forgot or needed to grab from the store. He told me to "stop for five minutes and give me a list. I'll stop on my way home from work for you!" Awww...he is sweet! The list has no rhyme or reason to it! The girls wanted chocolate syrup for the vanilla ice cream. This was the exact text I sent to my love.
This is part of what was picked up. The fridge items in the fridge. The cereal boxes put away. Items to make the trail mix! "Huh?I thought to myself. Why is there syrup? We have two bottles. Oh, I guess he wants more chocolate chip cookies! I can do that! Thank you for stopping at the store! Looks like you want cookies...you do know I just baked some, right?! We'll have to get chips for lunches another time! I have tortilla chips for our nachos tonight, so we are good!" He looked at me like I was being ungrateful. "I got what was on the list!" I smiled. He grabbed his phone, "See...right...heeee...re...it says...chips, chocolate syrup...oh boy...I guess Language class is important, girls! Commas make all the difference!" Oh...we are going to laugh about this one for awhile! I'm so glad I am not the only one who has "duh moments!"

Something that I have been reminded of lately...
Slow down...shut your mouth...and just listen...even when it has been a hard day...and/or you have a list of things you want to do...and you just want the person to hurry up and get it out! On the other side...I want people to give their time to listen and help me! So easy for me to be selfish...and not even recognize it as that.
Snapshots of the week
Building the walls of Jericho! Plus a little practice in team-work! So cute as they worked together. Then we taught them the song, "Joshua fought the battle of Jericho, Jericho, Jericho..." They love it and sing along after just a couple times hearing the song. Today, Thursday, we watched the Veggie Tale version...which plays the same song...and they got all excited.
This week is "O" week and today we talked about Opposites. Mrs. K made me laugh uncontrollably with her "What is the opposite of soft (see the pillow)?" Someone yelled, "Chair!" She stopped in defeat and then tried again, "This is soft (holding up the pillow) and this is...(holding up the chair)? Which one would you like to get bonked in the head with?" We have had so many funny moments of crazy things we say to provoke answers and actions in three year old friends. If you happen to stop by our room, don't be surprised...to hear grown-ups talking crazy or giggling uncontrollably!
"Mom, we are starving! What can we have for a snack?" Hmmm...flatbread that I buttered and put cinnamon sugar on. Yum! Cinnamon sugar toast...and apple pie filling...baked in the oven...drizzled with a quick frosting. Oh...it was a great off-the-cuff idea that made everyone happy!
Mom, we talked 55 minutes! I love those times shared with you...and Ted brought me coffee too. I found lots of pictures of snow and drifts...not funny...I know! Praying that the plows hit the roads early enough for you to make your way safely!

Oops...forgot the next to the last day of Spirit week...
"What do I want to be when I grow up?" Teddy wants to be a garbage man! Ashlynn wants to be a princess! Alisa just wanted to be well enough to go to the Grand Prix on Saturday!
"Mom, do you have a frog that I could borrow?" Loved that she added that! "Your dad will appreciate your humor!"
Mrs. K and I were the Super Ks of K3! Able to leap over small piles of toys in a single hop, able to wipe snotty noses with a fistful of Kleenexes, able to Clorox a table in 2 seconds flat, able to hear voices hollering from the bathroom "I'm done!" on the second or third holler, able to stay awake during the dark and quiet 1 1/2 hour naptimes, and able to both say at the same exact time from opposite sides of the room "UNBELIEVABLE!" OR "SERIOUSLY?!" after some catastrophe involving juice, pudding, potty, or snot!
We can count and color at the same time. We can sing and give the teacher look too. We laugh when we want to cry...and we do it day after day...because...well, that's our job...and we have fun doing it! Minus the bodily fluids, of course!

Grand Prix 2014
Checking in for the big race...
time to weigh in...
had to drill out some of the weight. This year...no finger was drilled!
Weight...check. Size...check. Signed off and put on the table!
Alisa's car...Hershey bar. Teddy's car...cheese with a black mouse.
Ted's car...part of the pinewood derby box! "I'm not interested in design...just speed!"
Once again...the team did a wonderful job! Everything looked so sharp and festive...and Alisa and I got to be there in person this year!!!
They sure enjoy this! They were talking hopes and plans here.
The cars are racing good and fast...just how we like it!
A little fun between the heats with Mr. M. and Mr. L.
Alisa took 1st in Speed. "The fastest Hershey bar ever!" This year there was a Grand Champion...the top four fastest cars for the kids and adults raced...and Alisa won! "Funny for a girl who probably had limited access to her car, am I right, Dad?"
"It was a team effort!" It was a fun Saturday afternoon.

A challenge from God's Word.
A little smack talk... Uncle Pastor wanted to know "where Uncle Ted put the batteries in his car!"
Teddy took 3rd for Speed. "The fastest piece of cheese that I have ever seen!"
Ted took 3rd in Design for the adults. He also took 1st in Speed for the adults. "Not sure he'll share his secrets, but it may have something to do with baking his blocks of wood?!""It was a team effort!" It was a fun Saturday afternoon.

Happy Valentime's Day!
Little treats for for our sweets...
and two boxes of sugar breakfast cereal for my loves! Ted wowed us again with love notes and his chocolate and toothpaste joke!
Red, white, and black day for Spirit Week...just happened to be the same day as Valentine's Day!
We talked about what Valentine's Day is...and that our real heart looks different from all the hearts we are using today. "My heart feels like it is bumping!" It is supposed to!
Decorating bags for our Valentines...some mommies are so creative!
Counting with conversation hearts and trying to stack them as high as we could!
Handing our 14 children's Valentines...harder than you'd think...three year olds can't read!
"How do you like my cookie? I used all the frosting!"
"MMMM, I really like to eat frosting!" Oh...your momma is going to love us!
Pep Rally for the basketball game...we didn't take our little friends in...too loud and scary! Teddy got to sub in two different times!
And it was so fun to watch...both teams win.

Helping Mrs. K fix her broken hearts...matching the alphabet letters!
Normal Mrs. Kari...and often that look is probably on my face! Pep Rally for the basketball game...we didn't take our little friends in...too loud and scary! Teddy got to sub in two different times!

We are feeling a little exposed since yesterday!
We came home to an empty lot next to us! We knew it was coming.
The kiddos were upset that they pushed our snow back...wrecked their snow tunnel and plowed up a mess for us. Wondering if they will keep the lot open or bring in something else! I know...we wonder too...why do this in the middle of the snowiest winter ever!? A new company bought the park and they are working to spiff it up...so we are told via the newsletters.
