A Special Afternoon to Celebrate...

the upcoming arrival of Teddy and Sloan's little girl.  She is due to arrive January 9th.  I was encouraged to make a sweater for Annie.
I found one of my books from childhood in my memory box.  I ironed the pages.
I drove over to the party after church on Sunday.  It was such a beautiful day here in east TN!
A fun theme for the farmlife loving Sloan....Locally Grown...with lots of flowers and fruits and veggies.
Such a sweet gathering of family and friends.
I was glad the party was outside!  I bought cute paper that reminded me of Sloan...but when I opened it at home...glitter covered the cute flower pattern!  Whoops!
The cove where Teddy and Sloan got married almost a year ago!  The colors are beginning to brighten here in TN!

So many cute...little clothes!
Sloan's little dress!

My girls!  I love being able to be close enough to join in the celebrations.

Grandpa and Grandma's gift...
Daddy's girl...
John Deere gear is a must...

Teddy stayed far away till muscle was needed to move in the stroller/carseat box...and then he was "outta there"!  "Baby showers are for girls!" Ha
Allie did a great job planning the shower.  Sloan's mom was a great hostess.

My drive home was filled with beautiful scenery and a  grateful heart!

Fall is my favorite!  Ted shared this week that he is enjoying fall too.  God has sent beautiful weather for our first full fall season in Tennessee.

Time with the family

We met up at Teddy and Sloan's for the Vols game and food.
We enjoyed chatting and watching the dogs.

But then the internet was not cooperating and we gave up on the game.
We enjoyed time together inside and out.
We continued the football frenzy on Sunday by watching the Bears play.

Fall mornings...country days...fall sunsets

The dogs and I watched the fog burn off as we took the morning walk outside.  Finally...it is sweater weather in the early mornings here in TN!
Such a beautiful scene each day!
We are getting closer!  We candled the eggs and we have questions about 7.  We will candle again before "Lockdown".  We are getting the brooder ready.
Oakley is wondering if she will get to play with the little chickies.
So many beautiful sunsets in one week!  But the pictures never do it justice, but my heart always responds the same way, "Thank you, God, for another day!"

Noticing things...

I walked out of the house and noticed something sitting in the sun...except it wasn't moving...and some of it was missing!  Oh nice!  I spent time cleaning up with house and making things nice for company yesterday and didn't even notice the DEAD LIZARD right by the entrance to our home!  I have no idea how long it has been there.  I had picked up a little bucket to use in the garden and didn't see it.
When I came back from the garden I was too focused shaking the bugs off the zinnias before walking into the house to put them in a vase of water.  Such a happy bouquet to take to a friend!
Our Bible study time was sweet!  We are studying Psalm 119 and it has been refreshing to gather around the table with other ladies.  Our hostess always makes things lovely.
Ted was in charge of keeping things supervised at home.  The dogs followed him downstairs and Oakley pestered Velle.  Typical!
Ted used the tractor to do a couple things.  I think he just likes to go for rides!  We catch glimpses of him from different windows...when we are not napping!  The minute he walks in the house, she goes nuts!  We are making progress with attacking feet and ankles...but we are NOT there yet.
