A Special Afternoon to Celebrate...

the upcoming arrival of Teddy and Sloan's little girl.  She is due to arrive January 9th.  I was encouraged to make a sweater for Annie.

I found one of my books from childhood in my memory box.  I ironed the pages.

I drove over to the party after church on Sunday.  It was such a beautiful day here in east TN!

A fun theme for the farmlife loving Sloan....Locally Grown...with lots of flowers and fruits and veggies.

I was glad the party was outside!  I bought cute paper that reminded me of Sloan...but when I opened it at home...glitter covered the cute flower pattern!  Whoops!  

The cove where Teddy and Sloan got married almost a year ago!  The colors are beginning to brighten here in TN!

Teddy stayed far away till muscle was needed to move in the stroller/carseat box...and then he was "outta there"!  "Baby showers are for girls!" Ha

Allie did a great job planning the shower.  Sloan's mom was a great hostess.

My drive home was filled with beautiful scenery and a  grateful heart!

Fall is my favorite!  Ted shared this week that he is enjoying fall too.  God has sent beautiful weather for our first full fall season in Tennessee.

 

Oakley's day

Oakley was not loving that I was getting ready to leave the house on Monday morning!  I took her with me...cause it was her day to go to the vet to have her surgery.  They kept her overnight to make sure she was ok and rested.  It was odd not having her around all day/night!  I spent the afternoon making cards for an order.  Velle hung out with me.

I will pick her up after ladies Bible study.  I expect to land in the chair for lots of cuddles and naps.

It is always a sweet time of fellowship each week!  My treat matched the theme of the day...pumpkin dip with ginger snaps.

We came home and I got Oakley to eat some lunch before we cuddled up on the chair.  She was full of licks for everyone.  They said she did well overnight...didn't even wake up when they checked on her.

Her sweaters came, so she is all warm and cuddly.  She has been sleepy, but doing well.

 

Spending LOTS of time making cards lately!

There have been some inquiries about certain types of cards being for sale!  So...I am making several varieties.  I have also shared packs of cards at our Ladies Bible Study.

Sending mail is a lost art!  Who doesn't like to get something other than bills in the mailbox?!

 

Will she go out today?

Somedays...not unless I receive a call requiring my help with a task.  I met Ted at the storage unit to "help" pick up one of his toolboxes.  Turns out...he did all the heavy lifting...he just needed my vehicle for hauling the drawers and offering a hand to steady the loading process.

Somedays...I am already going to be out and plan to check off a couple more errands while I am "in town".  I discovered a small nail in the front passenger tire.  Ted checked things over and it was time for the van to get new tires!  We do a lot of driving around here.

Somedays...I just need to leave the house and go for a drive to the post office or Dollar General.
 

Somedays...I get called to bring a medical device to work.  Since I am halfway to the P.O. Box and my favorite thrift store...I keep going.  Double Trouble Thrift has put out Christmas things already!  This display stopped me in my tracks and I went tripping down memory lane as tears welled up in my eyes!  "Vintage" Avon bottles...and I had everyone of them once upon a time!  Mom would buy us the Christmas specials of lotion and chapstick for our stockings.  She would get the bottles of perfume for one of our gifts....ahhh, Sweet Honesty was my favorite!  I would tip it carefully on my wrists and dab it behind my ears.  I was tempted to buy one of each...the bells, ornament, and angel.  BUT $4 for a bottle of something that now smells like old alcohol...didn't seem to make sense to my frugal brain.  A picture...that will do...because the memories of sweet Christmases are forever etched in my mind.

Some tomatoes are still coming...and the zinnias and marigolds are enjoying the cooler weather.

These make me happy!  And flowers just make things a little extra...
