A new month...a new week...

Starting my day with protein and Jesus

A walk out to the garden with the bees and bugs.

There are several green tomatoes that I hope will make it to red!

The flowers are amazing!  I picked the last of the beans and pulled the plants out.  Something is eating them!  I picked a lonely squash.  I see a couple blooms from the pumpkin and potato plants are growing.

I just love the zinnia and marigold border.  Next time...Not so thick and not all up by the garden.

 

Seasons of life

In Tennessee, it is still full on summer as September begins!  But there are signs that the things in nature are getting ready to rest.  It has been a beautiful growing season in so many ways.
 

A Big Project!

A wanted form of relaxation...

started becoming a reality...

day by day by day...

over the course of five days.

We have ordered parts from Amazon.  We went to Home Depot.

Ted put in lots of heavy lifting.

I was his little helper.

We both put in sweat equity!

Prepping the ground was the hardest part...

work after work...work on a day off...work all weekend...work on a day off...

Thinking and planning and tweaking and researching and planning....

Reading directions...watching videos to learn...trying and re-trying...

Alisa came on Friday night.

Ashlynn and Alex came on Saturday afternoon.

Dad called it a night and work ceased.

Alex and Ashlynn brought fireworks.

God gave us a beautiful evening after a week of hot, humid weather.

Sunday...we got the sides up and set...and started filling with water.  The water level was finally correct on Monday.  We set the filter and got everything running.  Ted and I got to enjoy the pool before rain moved in on Monday afternoon.

A want we had could be considered a need in this heat!  

The filter on the hoses helped keep the water clean and nice.  We will have to work with chemicals eventually...but right now...all is good.

It was a huge job!

We sweated ALOT and drank lots of water and Gatorade.  We were overwhelmed at times.

But...oh...it is so nice!  A big thank you to Ted and to our big kids!  Pool is open!

Mom ALWAYS has dessert!  This time...a favorite from Mexico that we can get here at Walmart!!! Crisp pastry is a perfect way to have a pie without a whole pie going soggy!  This time...with keylime fluff.  I had the fixings for smores BUT it was TOO HOT for a big fire.  And there was ice cream in the freezer.

I haven't done a sparkler in years!

Sitting on our property...we could see all the neighbors having fun too!

It was a relaxing and beautiful evening in the country!

Plans for next year are being made even now!

Leftovers and a discarded warning label found on the ground...which made me laugh.
