Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus

                                                       just to take Him at His Word!
Just to rest upon His promise,
Just to know, "Thus saith the Lord!"
Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him!
How I've proved Him o'er and o'er;
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!
Oh, for grace to trust Him more!
I'm so glad I learned to trust Him,
Precious Jesus, Savior, Friend;
And I know that He is with me,
Will be with me to the end.
Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him!
How I've proved Him o'er and o'er;
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!
Oh, for grace to trust Him more!

More than we could ask or think...

We just had to wait six and a half months!  We knew God would take care of all the details.  We thought things would continue to happen quickly, but God chose to slow things down after the first few details were accomplished to get us to Tennessee.
Looking back...His timing was better!  Less stressful as Ted works many hours in a stressful environment.  He is seeing good changes come about, but the road isn't easy.  This Yankee is teaching the hillbillies how to treat people!  And if you don't treat people as you ought, you are held accountable...doesn't matter how long you have been here.  "Do the right thing!" is the motto he is challenging all of the people to follow.  It is a biblical principle...and it works in our homes and in our jobs.  The Book of Proverbs continues to be our guidebook for the daily life situations we face!
Closing day got a little bumpy.  Cleaning day was heartbreaking.  Moving day was bittersweet.  But God sent our children to gather around us and help us.  He gave beautiful weather.  He gave safety to the movers and our family.  And now...we are taking the time to just be here and enjoy all He has done...in His perfect time and way.

Walk through and Closing on our new house

How do you prepare for a move-in?  Cabinet liners, mop, drinks, TP, paper towels, and pain meds!
When we got to the house for the final walk-through before heading to closing...things were NOT wrapped up on the seller's side.
Things got pretty tense...

Our realtor didn't know what to do...and the other realtor was being dishonest and shady.

They knew the closing date for a month!

Garbage...

Everything was so dirty and lots of junk left.

It was very discouraging...and we considered our options...

Our realtor stayed at the house as a pre-caution as we headed to closing.  We signed all the papers and headed back to the house to change locks and prepare for the dogs and I to come clean on Thursday.
Nasty dog hair everywhere...
I picked up dog poop and garbage out of the yard.  Ted changed the locks and checked things out.

The day was a little bumpy, but God helped us maneuver through the process.  We are now home owners in Tennessee.

I did it!!!

I started last Thursday taking the class for ESL teaching.  I chose a company that was known worldwide and accredited.
I spent 120 hours going through all the material.  It was all reading with quizzes throughout each module.
The final test was 65 questions.  I passed with a 98.46% on the first try!  I was so excited.
I am now ready for the next step that God has for me.  Ted has details to iron out.  And I need some of my teaching tools that are buried in storage.

Tuesday was full of thankfulness

I took time to be outside with the dogs once I got home from town.  God has sent such a beautiful spring to Tennessee.  I don't know if this is how it is every year, but if so, I will look forward to the season!  Velle is doing better.  We still don't know what the root cause of her not doing well, but the shot/meds seemed to help her.  I will continue to be aware of how she is handling things, as we will have another change in a month.
I got sidetracked by the memories that popped up on facebook.  I went down memory lane for awhile!

Oh my heart!  The days seemed so long back in the day...but those years...flew by so quickly!

A Night of Worship

On the way home from Sunday morning services, we asked Alisa if she wanted to join us for Sunday brunch and then go with us for our church's night of worship.  She said "Yes!" and showed up looking all cute, holding a yummy coffee drink from Cultivate for me.  MMMM!  I think she said it was a Samoa something or other.  I will have to ask her again.
I love doing things with our children...planned or spur of the moment!  I had tears streaming down my face a couple of times as I let the words that were being sung wash over my heart and mind.
"The Lord is my Shepherd and He is everything I need."

"I am the living proof of what the Lord has done."

"Oh, I know it is well.  Oh, that's the story I'll tell."

On both sides of me...Ted and Alisa...I was reminded of how God has worked in our lives.  He has led us to where we are now.  He has done and continues to do all things well.  It is important to look back and thank Him for what He has done in our lives...not always easy...but always for His glory!

Saturday

I used the stud finder and found the best one in the house!  Ha ha
Getting a project done...
to make a laundry closet...
by framing up a wall for a door...which will also make a third bedroom!
Sloan and I got crafty with watercolors and then stamping to make cards.
A break to chat and snack...
It was a productive day for the guys and the girls.

Thankful for these times that God is giving us!
