The coziness of autumn

We had a beautiful autumn week in Michigan!  The colors were gorgeous and now...the leaves are falling and blanketing the ground in gold.
I kept busy with rental errands and a morning in the classroom.
We enjoyed the quiet evenings and Ted tried a new way to deal with his elbow pain.
Pain was forgotten when a special delivery arrived!  The rest of the pieces are being picked up and the excitement is equal to a child's expectation for Christmas!

Time with a sweet friend to chat and craft!  We made cards and shared a nice morning together.
And the excitement hit in full force on Saturday!  Guys will be guys!
He let me hold it too!  It is heavy.  I'll stick with cookie baking and bacon making!
OOOOhhhh yum!  Candied bacon for a little extra fun to share with friends.
Read this today and decided to have a reminder for this season in full view!
Time with friends was a blessing as we shared supper and life.
And a yummy dessert...homemade chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwiches.
A beautiful drive to the airport to get our girlie fresh off the plane from Tennessee.  In a couple weeks, we will get to hug the TN dwellers!!!
Sunday afternoon...resting, football, and laundry folding.  Getting ready for a new week and a new month.

A day date

Working together on a rental property...Ted is the brains and the brawn and I am his happy assistant!  I hand tools, meet inspectors, and provide good company.  I am learning all sorts of things to be helpful...and time together is the added bonus!
Such pretty days to go on rides to properties!

And then...a needed trip to the Walmart Auto guys to find the leak in my van tire!  Well...that was an unfortunate but needed find!  Thanks, guys, for a job well done!  We are now part of the various parts in the road hazard jar that sits on the counter of our Walmart.

Once again...I am reminded of the protection and provision God gives as we travel so many miles each day and month.
Through each season...God has been ever faithful!  These thoughts seem to be more front and center as I watch the season change and I think back through the last few months.  Lord, may I never take for granted that You are sovereign in each moment and in each day!

Time in the van

I like to drive!  I don't mind going on short or long trips.  Much of what I do now is on the computer, on the phone, or in the van.  Yesterday's excursion was down to Taylor to deliver parts for a fix at one of our rentals.  Ted asked me to check to see if things were drying out to be ready for the fix Tuesday.  Uff da!  Yes, things are drying out but what a mess to fix.  I am thankful for the guys who know how to do all the things!  My husband who found the issue and a repairman with a good track record.  It is good to have connections in this business!  I am learning just how many connections Ted has in the real estate/investment group we are in...wow!  These people like to help one another out.  Still so much to learn and keep track of...I'm still trying to figure out how Ted keeps things straight!  Oof!

Also part of my mission was to drive by and check out a new to the market house.  I spotted an expensive fix right away as I drove up!  OOO...those city inspectors!  We drove back later to assess the whole property.  It is a good one and before we left...there came another investor duo.  We shall see what we see.
It was a beautiful day for two drives!  And a fun little evening date time too!

First frost!

And there it is...the first official frost of the season on October 23, 2023!  The leaves sound like raindrops falling as the frost melts and they let go to float to the ground.
Since Alisa is gone and the dogs lost their buddy to sleep with...means the dogs are in with us!  They like to snuggle in close...but they take up so much room.  Tonight...Velle scootched up right between our pillows.  Good grief!  Chica stayed down by my legs...sideways...which makes being able to move almost impossible.  I am regretting all life choices to allow the dogs on our bed at night as I try to get in a comfortable position to fall asleep.  We never let our children do this....but the dogs...
what happened to me?!  And now we are down this path and I don't know how to fix it because they would cry and howl in their cages downstairs and we don't have the stamina to deal with that at this point in our life because we just want to sleep when sleep comes!  Our solution...is moving to a bigger bed.

Time with the girls!

Ashlynn popped in for a couple days and then took Alisa away for the week!  We enjoyed the time she was here.  Something about coming back home and taking a nap with the puppies. "Did you feel like you were being watched?"
Ashlynn and I enjoyed doing a couple errands together.  We also visited Alisa for a yummy tea drink!
Before I left the house to sub, I reminded Alisa to please clean out the egg pan when they were done with breakfast.  Guess who got to clean it out after sitting all afternoon...yep. me...even after explaining to both girls how crazy dried egg makes me!
We tried a new Mexican place for supper and enjoyed the conversation.  Ted and Alisa had a good banter!

The facial expressions were hilarious to watch!

Time with the family...is always a blessing to my heart!  I hope they will always want to come for visits!

A busy guy!

I stalked Teddy's singles group after he told us about their weekend retreat.  What fun they have as a group!  I saved pictures and giggled at how many different expressions Teddy has in the activities he is able to participate in each season.

Loving the Tennessee flair!

Always on the go!

Just so thankful to see Teddy doing all the things...work, church, play, serving, learning...and I want to save those memories.
