Alisa and I love a good quiche!
My girl surprised me with a yummy treat when I got home from Kindergarten...cherry limeade!
22 kindergarteners working to make their parents tear up at graduation! Our theme this year is "Little Things"!
Practicing with worms...and as I type this...I realize that I never gave out the gummy worms I bought for a special treat that day! Oops...next week's fun now!
The first request for "the book" signature for this year! I will never be able to just sign my name! I want them to remember all the fun they had when they started their academic career...in kindergarten...with me! I get teary every time I do a book for my little friends...wondering where life will take them and will they always remember the Truth that God loves them and He has a special plan for their life!? Let me grab a Kleenex!
How do you enjoy Oreos? "My Dad says the best way to eat an Oreo is to dunk them in milk!" I smiled..."he is right...but I didn't bring milk to Math class today...so let's twist off the top and eat the cream in between!" Maybe they will remember numbers in a fun way! Or just that their teacher gypped them out of the full experience.
My girl has added flowers to her grocery list! I came home to these pretty spring colors the other day. I have never thought to make that part of my grocery list...but such a fun idea to brighten up our table and home! And....just in time...Ted flew in Thursday night for the weekend! What a fun way to end a month and begin the month of May!

This week
We got back into a normal routine of school as we get ready to finish our year. This little friend broke his finger which was in a growth plate which meant a cast! Pretty excited to have his friends sign his cast on Thursday. He was all about his favorite animal as we shared some facts. I love watching these little friends get excited about learning!
Well...things are greening up and little flowers popped up in an unexpected place.
A trip to Dairy Twist...it has been a little while...for a reason.
Dad made his way north for the weekend to spend time with his big kids! Love that they could encourage one another and just have some fun! This growing up stuff is kind of hard!
And the parenting part is heart hard too!

Where has the time gone?
God has been so, so good to us! I am so thankful for the many memories we have with our children...simple day trips to see Grandma-great to a life-changing trip to Bolivia...and everything in between! 13 years ago...the days seemed so long some times, but the days were oh so short!
All good things...
come to an end sooner or later! This time...it was on Monday! We got a batch of winter weather that moved in right after I delivered Ted to the airport to fly south again. The rain turned to snain and then to snow! I stopped to get my nails done...something that I have spoiled myself with lately.
When I came out of the salon, the snow was beginning to stick to the yards and vehicles!
Awwww...it is still pretty even though I am ready for spring!
A stop at a yummy spot for lunch! I craved sweet tea after thinking about Ted heading back south again.
This is how the rest of my day off was spent! What a comfort to delight in the little things that God blessed us with each day...and in each season!
Tuesday...was back to school after a sleepless night. I came home and cuddled with the puppies and took a nap so I would be ready to do an 8:00pm airport run to pick up Alisa!
She is our neighborhood watchdog...or maybe...she is the nosey neighbor!
School prep...again! I like bears...they like to hibernate! I want to hibernate!
Time with my Sisa! We both had a rough afternoon and our discipleship time included supper out at Kensington Grill. We both had leftovers for lunch today!
I am thankful that we can have these times together...talking about what God is doing in our lives. "God is a God of details. He is at work even when we cannot see what He is doing. And I know that He does all things well!"

Easter 2022
Our auditorium was pretty this year with the lights and the name of JESUS! We had an encouraging service! Jesus...our living HOPE!
Our first holiday...in 20 years with no children in their chairs at our table. But they were together in TN and that made our hearts happy...to see their smiling faces and blooming trees!
No children with us...so we did the adult things...took a picture and sent it to our kiddos!
I found a treat for Mari and I! We used to love drinking Clearly Canadian.
A beautifully sunny afternoon...a bit chilly though...for grilling streaks!
Our Easter dinner table...the grown up way to do an Easter treat..."place cards" of favorite treats!
Pretty dishes...filled with yummy food!
A smaller table...surrounded by smiles and laughter and conversation!
A happy griller enjoying his handiwork!
The hostess who always wants to capture the memory for later.
A pretty plant from my sis!
Coffee, puppies, dessert, conversations...made for a relaxing afternoon!

Another liquid treat that Brad and Mari shared! Nitro Pepsi! Hmmm...not sure about this one.

A weekend with my love
Hooray! Ted is home! I got to pick him up from the airport on Thursday night. It was super windy here all day. He had a bumpy descent into DTW and was glad when the plane touched down. He told me the story of helping a Mom with two little girls get on the plane. How sweet my husband is! He had little hands poking between the seats and little conversations the whole flight. He was in first class, so he shared some snacks with the little ones too. When the rough ride started, one of the little girls came and sat on his lap for the landing. The stewardess gave him the special seatbelt and he hugged her tight as she was shaking in fear. I am thankful that God uses us in so many different ways each day...we just have to notice and be willing. Ted helped them get off the plane and got high fives at baggage claim.
Spring is beginning to pop here in Michigan! We greeted the morning with birds singing and sunshine while we had coffee and breakfast. "Similar to Waffle House...but hopefully...better!" Ted said, "Oh yes...you have your teeth!"
When the clouds make the sun disappear and the rain moves in, it is the perfect time to bake!
We spent the day together all cozy in our home...restful and peaceful!
I worked on enjoying my Easter basket from Ted! Full of his laundry! Ha ha ha! We both thought this funny!
And then...we left on our date night! I planned this one.
A Good Friday concert with the Ball Brothers! What an encouraging evening of music! My favorite song they sing, "It's About the Cross!" I am so thankful God's Son who humbled Himself and became obedient unto death...even death on the cross...for my sins. Oh the wonderful hope of the Death and Resurrection of our Lord!A late night supper at Applebee's! We haven't done Applebee's in forever and it was really good...and nice that it was open late! Nice picture...he keeps me laughing.A sunny Saturday...and a puffed pancake!
...with fresh raspberry sauce! Breakfast and coffee with my love...savoring the time!
