What do we do on vacation?

Our first morning...the guys made breakfast!  Pancakes and the yummy pineapple juice.

First day at the pool and walking on the beach.
Sooooo.... girls....what do you think?  "Oh my!  I am not going to want to leave!  This is so fun!"

Fresh fruit...fresh juice...palm trees...three pools to choose from...people to watch...and don't forget the sunscreen!!!!

While we did the pool thing...the guys did a walking taco tour!  They met up with a guy on the Malecon who took a group around to the different places that were known for having the best local fare.  They lasted through two places and then were too full to go on!

Our cute pizza delivery team!  They walked to the mall where the Pizza Hut was.  In the backpack, Ted was carrying some bottled pop and chocolate treats for our birthday girl!  Yep, we took Alisa to Mexico for her 19th birthday!  At least, that is how she is interpreting our trip and what she is telling everyone.

Sunset from the balcony!
How big is your water bottle?  This lasted our family 2 days.  Made more sense to Ted to get the big one for coffee each morning and smaller bottle refills...except it was heavy and the holder hurt the hand!
80 pesos for the tray of fruit cut fresh at the cart on the beach....it was so yummy...just like I remembered!
Our view from our balcony...Friday afternoon...party at the pool with Mexican music, singers, and dancers!
Waiting to check in for the boat to the island and show...Rhythms of the Night.  They had totally redone the whole area for checking in and waiting.  I was disappointed with how posh it was...they took away the local Mexican flair of things.  No parrot on the shoulder this time!  It was more organized...so I will give them that.
On board the soon to be party boat!
Watching the kids watch the boat leader...

Beautiful evening on the water!

Ready for the show...in the rainforest atmosphere with the higher humidity and a few bugs.

I guess I didn't take pictures of anything else that night!  We had dinner and while eating, Teddy drew our attention to the fact that there was lightning in the distance.  I looked at Ted and said, "You can't be serious!  We are going to have a repeat of three years ago?"  And then we laughed!  Oh...it was even better!  It started raining on the long walk along the boardwalk on the coast back to the boat...pouring rain!  Thankfully, it was a warm rain.  We were soaked by the time we got on board.  The sides were down on the boat and chairs were inside.  By the time we were loaded, the thunder and lightning was strong and it was raining harder.  Up went the music and off we went!  The expressions on our big kids were fun to watch.  The rain let up as we docked but they gave instructions to go slow walking to the taxis as another squall was moving in...and then...as if on cue...it started pouring again!  We experienced the jumble of trying to get a taxi and an Uber back to the resort at 12:30am!  What a fun memory!
Ted and Teddy got up early...after a 1am bedtime...and met for an ATV tour that took them up into the mountains.  They had a couple different stops along the trail...one for lunch at a village place!
They enjoyed the experience together!
While they did that...we were at the pool!  It was a beautiful day to read and have lunch by the pool.
It was such a relaxing time and everyone could do what they wanted when they wanted!
We checked the weather to see what the temp was...and this is what we saw!  I got the giggles!  Hurricane Enrique...well...this should be fun!
The guys were so impressed with taco options that they went and got tacos for all of us for supper.  Did you know you could come up with five different taco combinations..."and that is just the start!"  It was the perfect amount of food...fresh...and cheap!
Hanging out in the room for a little bit...
Doing a little bit of laundry..."I didn't realize that all of my t-shirts are about America or guns or stuff...so I only had a couple that I thought appropriate to bring and wear here."  I'm glad he listened to his Dad's instruction on that.  We are proud to be Americans...but you don't go to another country and flaunt freedoms you have in your homeland.  "Show some respect for others!"
Poolside supper this day...fish tacos that were amazing!  Oh...I hope to remember the flavors and can try to recreate at home!

Celebrating graduations!

With an early morning flight out of Detroit to Dallas on June 23.

Looking pretty good for 5am and no coffee yet!

Dallas airport was hot!  You would think they would consider the mask requirement and compensate with cooler air temps. NOPE!
Wear a mask. Keep your distance. Oh and by the way...the flight is full! Oof!

Coming into Puerto Vallarta!

Our first taxi driver from the airport to the resort was so nice and full of neat facts!

Authentic Mexican tacos for lunch! YUMMO!

Waiting for our room to be ready...we ended up staying in the room facing the pool!  Second column of windows...third floor!  Beautiful and clean and lots of room for our family!  Ashlynn took a nap while Alisa and Teddy explored.
Ted and I took an Uber to the Walmart to get breakfast and lunch items.  Cactus is a local produce readily available!
We wanted fresh rolls for sandwiches by the pool...interesting way to purchase fresh bakery items!  Get a tray and a tongs, pick out all your items, give the pan to the lady to package and add the price ticket.

Ted's excitement over a trip to Walmart.  It took  well over an hour because we had to walk rows figuring out where things were and what the labels said!  It was a fun adventure!

The early morning...up at 2:30am...caught up with all of us and we just relaxed and enjoyed the view!
Vacation 2021...Puerto Vallarta, Mexico...Villa del Palmar.  So fun to share this with our big kids!
