My little friends were ready to come back to school!

They were ready to come back to our routine.
They enjoy each other's company and playtime.
And this is how I know we had a good day...and I kept them super busy...my desk explodes!
I'm really proud of how much they remember and what they are able to do as I challenge them.  I told them on January 2, "I have a secret for you for the new year...K5 is going to get harder!"

Turns out...you can teach an old dog new tricks!

Alisa made me laugh as she explained how she was playing yarn chicken.  She has offered time and again to teach me to crochet...I finally became her student and she was a very patient teacher!
It took some brain power and paying attention...but I finally got it!  We made a bubble garland.
The exciting part...I remembered how to do it the next day!  I have since made six garlands.
I have been trying to do things other than all things school lately...taking my own advice as I mentor other new teachers.  Alisa will be able to sell four of the garlands at a craft fair in February.
I've also enjoyed reading a series that Alisa shared.  I have another book to begin for a Monday night book club too!  Another new experience that a new friend is sharing with me.

"I'm a little helper..."

I am his little helper!  We have fun working together.
Using the stud finder!  He said it wasn't working...he only had to drill two extra holes.
And then we come home and enjoy the quiet evening together
Our family theme for this year shared together on Christmas Day 2022 in Tennessee.

This song was shared in the special Christmas morning service and the words brought us to tears.  It is our desire to make room in our hearts to always allow God to work in and through us.  When we look back at 2022, we see that He has done all things well for our good and for His glory.
… A family hiding from the stormFound no place at the keeper's doorIt was for this a Child was bornTo save a world so cold and hollow
… The sleeping town, they did not knowThat lying in a manger lowA Savior King who had no homeHas come to heal our sorrows
… Is there room in your heart? Is there room in your heart? Is there room in your heartFor God to write His story?
… Shepherds counting sheep at nightDo not fear the glory lightYou are precious in His sightGod has come to raise the lowly
… Is there room in your heart? Is there room in your heart? Is there room in your heartFor God to write His story?
… You can come as you areBut it may set you apartWhen you make room in your heartAnd trade your dreams for His gloryMake room in your heartMake room in your heart
… Mother holds the promise tightEvery wrong will be made rightThe road is straight, the burden's lightFor in His hands, He holds tomorrow
… Is there room in your heart? Is there room in your heart? Is there room in your heartFor God to write His story?
… You can come as you areBut it may set you apartWhen you make room in your heartAnd trade your dreams for His gloryMake room in your heartMake room in your heart
… Make room in your heartMake room in your heart

And we move from 2022 to 2023!

Our New Year's Day was a relaxing and restful day.
Coconut cream pie in the form of a dip!
My new favorite winter beverage!

Thankful for time at home...but ready to get back to finish our school year!

Instruction and challenge!

A little competition...

Yep...you read that right!  I won by a lot!  My shots...three bullseyes and three in the black circle.
Even with the grimace...and possible shutting of eyes.  Gotta work on that!  My winning prize...lunch out and a coffee drink!  Thanks, honey!
