We had a fun week back to school after spring break. My friends so enjoyed the new play things. Ted had a trade show in Chicago and invited me to go. So I asked for a sub and got things together.
We left after I got done with school and took some Dramamine and hit the road.
It was cold and windy and snowy in Michigan! We wondered what we were driving into!!!!
An hour in...and the clouds started to break up...and we saw blue skies! And then...the...sun! Something we haven't seen in Michigan for several days!
Our little fur baby who does not do well with travel. She insisted on being on my lap...and I finally gave in after we had eaten some lunch.
A beautiful day in Chicago!
Grandma's house...and new bones to make it all extra special.
Loving on Grandma.
Velle and Mommy had to make a special trip to the animal hospital. Alisa pointed out a concern late Tuesday night and we attempted to get some answers Wednesday morning...that led us to a must see vet situation.
She had an abscessed anal gland that would not go away on its own. She was still her cuddly and friendly self.
I think she knew Dr. Ream was going to help her and was very compliant. I left her in good hands for her little procedure requiring sedation and antibiotics.
I stopped and got a coffee and donuts for us. We sat and talked about all the things for two hours.
I got the call to go back and pick up the patient. I was very pleased with the care we received at this animal hospital.
Poor baby was out of it! We came home with two pills to take every 12 hours and the dreaded cone.
Chica was worried about her buddy.
Why won't she play with me?
This is how we take pills!
She slept on my lap all afternoon and then finally agreed to try the cheese.
We took a little comfort walk outside and came right back in to cuddle. It was a long night of fussing around and not being comfortable.
Ted took care of a couple projects after he got back from his trade show. It was nice to spend time resting and visiting with Mom.
Velle finally got up and moved around more. Grandma was making lasagna and when she cracked the eggs, the dogs went crazy. So...we made scrambled eggs for supper and they were happy.
I thought I had paid attention to how the cone worked. I had to get some technical help from the guy who figures out all the things all the time.
Velle was disappointed!
Friday morning time with my dear friends!
Breakfast was yummy and the fellowship so very sweet and uplifting! Even in the storms of life, we can say that God is so good.
"We must have a picture of us...especially if all the tornadoes come and we blow away...we need a memory!"
Sitting around and Ted entertained us with his commentary on life.
Did you say Nap?! Yes, please!
Company for supper!
Two little girls that entertained each other and us!
"Cookies at Grandma's!"
Aunt Kari and Uncle Ted had to get a little treat for the girlies! Can you guess what part Uncle Ted chose? Cold hard cash!
We sat at the table playing play dough earlier as the storms rolled through the area. We experienced high wind, rain, and lightning. The sirens went off and we watched out the windows and listened to the news updates. Tornados were spotted in the area and some places lost power and trees. We were thankful it wasn't bad where we were. Perched on Uncle Ted's lap as we chatted.

"Grandma's house makes us sleepy! I can't stop yawning!"
Early morning drive back to MI with our DD coffee in hand.
We had clouds and sprinkles off and on.
Happy April Fool's Day!
We got home about 2:00pm and Ted had time to rest before meeting some old co-workers for dinner.
It is always fun to go away...but always a blessing to come home safely.
Alisa and I did pizza for supper and then we went to early bed! It has been a busy week.
