Three weeks till graduation!

Teddy is into countdown mode!  Actually...I think he has been for awhile now!  They leave for the senior trip on Monday for the week.  We are thankful that this year, it is actually happening.  We are praying for Uncle Brad and Aunt Mari as they lead the week.  So fun to see how these friends have grown up through the years!

Teacher Appreciation '21

A visual reminder of why I teach!  To touch the hearts and minds of little friends with the love of Jesus as we learn how to read, write, count, and be good friends.  Each of my kinders decorated a heart which was made into a garland for me.
Special gifts and words of love.
Special lunches and treats.
All reminders of why little things we do in the classroom...matter!
To finish off the week, we practiced writing sentences about something we learned this year.  I just love each thing the students wrote.  Some students asked for help to spell their words.  Some did not ask for help and tried it on their own!  We had a couple spelling mistakes.  One significant one I caught as I went to staple it to the board...and I laughed. One other mistake...I didn't catch till after I took the picture...not as inappropriate...yet still interesting.  Kindergarteners have learned so much this year!  I am proud of them!  The English language rules are very hard...so we will continue to practice.  Someday...they will understand that spelling matters...and brings much laughter if it isn't right!

Girls...quick trip

It takes planning to be gone!
Cincinnati is the new Chicago for us...we lost an hour due to construction on I-75!
Nerves needed ice cream.
Off to a meet and greet interview for Ashlynn...and then....a written test to accomplish the licensing process.
It was pouring rain and thundering...so we opted to stay in the car.  We both had things to do to occupy our time and minds.  Actually, I just enjoyed the quiet time!
Disappointment...
yet holding it together...
a little food at Cheddars for lunch before heading home.  Learning through the decisions and hard times of life.  Time to re-group and try again.

Just a 16 minute slow down in Cincinnati this time!

One side of the car...the sunset.  The other side of the car...a rainbow.  Straight ahead...the clearing rain clouds.  There is an object lesson in here somewhere...but my mind is a jumble with so many life needs right now that I cannot focus through it all.
What I do know...we need to keep moving forward and trusting the Lord for each step...no matter the situation.  "Do the next thing!"
So thankful for safety in travel...we arrived home at 10:30pm and got up and stepped right back into responsibilities.
It is always nice to come home!  Another reminder that God gives us what we need when we need it...and our home is a safe place for peace and rest!

Enjoying the inside and outside of our home

Just thankful as I walk around our home and see the various people and pets that live here and visit here...trying to soak up the simple things of life!

All in a week...

I'm going to miss surprise deliveries from my senior guy in the morning!
Practicing some of the harder parts of K5...sentence writing!
Yep...I have to now use readers to see the little print of the testing results.

This group of students did a great job today in the performance for our preschool and elementary!  It was fun to watch all of them!  I'm looking forward to tonight...opening night!

Our guy runs the accompaniment track with all music pieces and sound bites!  They all nailed it this morning!

Working on Mother's Day projects when I have a wonderful helper in Miss Alisa!
Who eats ice cream when it is cold enough for snow? Me!

Special deliveries

When you call your sis to ask if you can bring her anything and she actually requests a coffee drink!  Mari gave lots of smiles.  We had a nice afternoon together.  The day after surgery was going as expected...rest and minimal pain controlled by normal pain reliever. "I feel like I got punched in the armpit."

Then the girls stopped by with a sweet treat from Dairy Twist for their auntie.  "She hasn't come by yet and she needs some Michigan Pothole!"  We are doing our best to temp her taste buds with high calorie things.
Snow...we had snow in April...just as my tulips are getting ready to bloom!
The falling snow was pretty...
for as long as it lasted...but now...we are ready for the warm temps to come back again.
