Tripping with Karen and Kari

Headed to Florida to visit Maranatha Village.
Checking to make sure all was well.
Shuttle to the rental car...and we were off!  Not quite Thelma and Louise...and that made us laugh!
Miles of orange groves...
and then hugging Mom!
Our place for nine days was very comfortable!

Dad suggested Hibachi for supper and I whole-heartedly agreed!  A yummy Chinese buffet
with fortunes that made us laugh.  "How did they know?!"  Hey...these are fresh!  We must have got the ones on the top of the basket!

Dad and Mom supplied us with some yummy things for breakfast!  So thoughtful.
They know me well!
Crawling into bed after a long day of travel and unwinding...
I was still wide awake even though exhausted...
I looked over as I asked Mom a question...she was out!
A yummy way to start the day!
And we headed over to water aerobics!  What fun to see ladies I had met before and meet new friends!

The birthday girls!!!

Ashlynn came to Michigan for the special girl trip they had planned.  She got in Sunday afternoon.
We celebrated their birthdays with a churro cake!  And they indulged us with candles!
It was yummy!
Ashlynn brought a gift from her and Teddy for Father's Day.  Funny t-shirts are their love language.
"This is for me, not you!"
The four girls sharing space for a Sunday afternoon nap.  Love when they can be together talking and laughing!
Escaping to the garage...taking a break from checking out a noise on the van while it rains.
Getting distracted from the job I was supposed to be doing...packing to leave early Tuesday morning.
The girls always bring a lot of chatter and laughter!

Fun with Food...and Grandma

Taste of Mexico...getting ready for a special treat for a Saturday supper.
Crazy dogs love watermelon and could hardly wait for Grandma to cut it up!  Yes, she spoiled them!
Took Mom to a yummy brunch place as we got ready to run errands.
Any time I happen to sit down...I have company!
The expected response to his almost daily text..."Are you napping?"
Making the marinade for my head chef...
so he could make tacos el pastor...
to strain or not to strain...
so I did one of each...
pork loin cut in 1/2 slices...
A summer breakfast!
Another fix needed and arranged at a rental...
A treat from up north...Ted and mom went for a drive to check out something and they stopped at Cops and Doughnuts!  MMMM...a happy birthday, Alisa, treat.
Fresh pineapple...
Stacking it up...

Ready for the grill...

Success is sweet and smells divine!

Wowza!
Fresh mango salsa...
typical toppings...optional additions are thin sliced radishes and cucumber

Next time...I will make fresh tortillas!
