Working through the lists

I took Grandma to the airport early and came home to care for some things.  I then decided to go to Hobby Lobby and check a couple things off my "to do" list.  Flowers for wedding bouquets...and all the flowers were 40% and 50% off!

Autumn colors are so beautiful!
All fall and Christmas stuff was 50% off!  Ooooo...I walked up and down all the aisles, but said "NO!" to many things!

The clouds rolled back to beautiful blue sunny skies.  It was a beautiful day!  Good thing...I got to make another delivery to our rental project.

The fall cloudy skies again as I sat in rush hour traffic.
Catching up on mail and playing with the flowers...
a great way to deal with everyone leaving.  Creativity is great therapy!
This picture popped up on facebook memories!  I can't even believe how fast those years have gone.  Now we are in the adult children phase of life!  Our "to do" list has been made for November, and we are gladly checking things off in preparation of all the family time.
The seasons change...
and I am so glad that God is the same...yesterday, today, and forever!

The colors of fall this week in Michigan are gorgeous!

A soggy Sunday

Church, errands, dinner, and rest!  We enjoyed being together.  Ted built a fire because it was chilly and we watched "Father of the Bride" and ate pumpkin muffins.

Time together is special!  And it always goes so quickly!  The girls left on Monday and Grandma left on Tuesday.  The next time we gather will be in TN for Thanksgiving and Alex and Ashlynn's wedding!

Saturday was sweet

4:30am wake up text to tell me they were on the road!
A morning call with coffee from the porch with Teddy!
They got in about 1:00pm...just in time for some lunch!
Catching up on all the things!
Cocoa meeting Velle and Chica.

Mom's homemade cooking...apples for dessert turnovers.

Updates from Teddy working the Hiller tent at the UT tailgating event and then free tickets to the game!

We watched the game and ate apple turnovers from the comfort of our living room.
It was a fun evening together and apart.

Random Snapshots

Mari sent me this shot of the lights out her front door!  I was in bed already and went to see out our door...and I could not.  We are a mile apart!?!  Our neighbor's lights were on and bright.  I did not have the energy to fuss with it all and went back to bed.
Teddy keeps us up to date with all his shenanigans!
Movie night with the dogs...as we anticipate the arrival of the girls on Saturday!  The house is clean and bed ready.  And...we have some treats for our TN loves.
Shower gifts and housewarming gifts.

Taking care of business!

How do you fuel Kari for the job?  DD...and go!
Dropping off supplies...and checking on the progress...
uh...basically none...what is the guy doing?  Oops...he was sick!
Checking on the concrete leveling job....well...that worked!  Cheaper than breaking it all up, forming and leveling, then pouring new concrete!
Back home to bake a loaf of bread for a friend...
And have a check-up tutoring session with my little 1st grade friend who wants to go faster "like everyone else"!

She is all official!

Alisa has been trained and learning all the things to do with the credit union.  She got her business cards!  Woohoo!
She has had some interesting stories to share about people who come into the branches she has worked.  One of her favorite places is on the UT campus downtown Knoxville!  She has shared some neat opportunities she will have going forward.  It was scary to step out into the unknown, but God is showing her so many things that she would have missed if she stayed in Michigan.  "You just never know what God will do...but you have to keep moving forward...trying the doors to see if one will open!"

A weekend full of sun

The weather has been so pretty!  I shared this picture with my Daddy...sending love from Michigan...a common type of communication once sent to my sweet Momma so she could enjoy the change of the season!  This week...we are tracking another hurricane headed toward FL in this season.  I am praying that Milton (sounds like an elderly gentleman's name to me) gets tired and decides to lay down (fall apart) and take a nap (go away and be quiet)!
We went to a BBQ place for supper on Friday night and it tasted so good!
Saturday morning chat with my girl!  I love how she took time out of her day and just sat in the car and talked to me as she was out and about.
Ted fired up the smoker on Saturday!  The hardest part was deciding what special Meat Church rub to use!
We enjoyed the beauty of the afternoon and evening on the patio as we made the whole neighborhood smell good!

Remembering to take time to slow down and savor the moments of this season...and soak up as much sun as possible!
