Friday morning, we woke up to snow!
Contemplating life...or the trip...as we listened to Christmas music and podcasts.
I made lots of granny squares for a special Christmas gift.
The snow and rain continued on and off all the way to Richmond, Kentucky! The roads were just wet as the temps stayed around 35. It was a blustery stop at Bucees!
The dogs traveled well.
We took another route into TN due to an accident on 75 South and it proved to be a scenic way with less traffic!
We went through the tunnel of the Cumberland Gap and got to Teddy's house before 5pm.
Alisa came to see us after work.
Teddy has comfortable beds.
We enjoyed spending time again...and stayed up waaaay past our bed times talking!
The girls picked me up on Saturday for girl fun.
First Watch is a fan favorite!
We visited JoAnn Fabric for our various yarn needs.
And Ashlynn entertained us with her choice.
Then a stop at the thrift store...and lots of laughing.
A craft idea...decorating a roll of toilet paper! The possibilities are endless with this option!
We got up at 6am on Sunday morning, loaded up, and left Teddy's by 6:36am. We stopped for gas and then hit a Dunkin Donut for a coffee as we headed farther south.
The sunrise was pretty and the sun invigorating!
We sailed through Atlanta!
The Bucees's at Fort Valley, Georgia, was absolutely bonkers! It was amazing to see that many people and how they handled moving the crowds through quickly.
When we got around Ocala, FL, we hit traffic and lost over an hour in travel time.
BUT...I got my special gift completed!
Needless to say...we were ready to be out of the van after 13 hours...sun-up to sun-down!
We made it to Grandma's house just before 8pm.
And I got to check in on Dad!!!
The dogs have cuddled in just fine to FL life!
The sunshine and warmth is a treat!
Our very first Christmas spent in the warmth of Florida!
Time for a snacking style lunch with Dad.
A golf cart ride with Grandma.
Supper with Dad ended with sweets and a coffee.
Another tutorial watched for a crochet project to attach to a gift.
Crashing out...
and totally relaxing in many different positions.
These may be very addicting!
Another crochet project.
