Soccer 2020 update

It started raining early in the day!  By game time...it was snaining!  Of course...it is Michigan!

The guys lost their game 2 to 1.

The goalie had some awesome moves...when the ball came his way which was not very often.  Our team controlled the ball on the other end of the field most of the game...but their 40 plus attempts on goal were met with the goalies hands or the air.  Our guys had trouble controlling the ball.

The two goals that got by Teddy were on a fast break that went into the goal diagonally...and there was no stopping it.  A tough loss to a team that they really wanted to beat!

Our season is done...and now Teddy is gearing up for basketball!

My big, tough guy!

Tonight, these senior guys play in the semi-final game of soccer!  We have watched them play since they were in fifth grade...and now...the soccer season is almost over for their last year.  Right now, at 3:00pm, it is raining.  That makes for a hard game to play...and watch while trying to stay warm.  We are ready to watch them...and we are hoping for a win!
While being big and tough, our son came and talked with my class today!  My boys love to play soccer at recess.  One little friend talks about how Teddy is the goalie...all the time.  He is at every soccer game because his brothers play too.  So now...my whole class thinks he is the best!
I don't think Teddy realizes how much younger students look up to him and his buddies.  Teddy talked with my class and answered all their questions.  He got to see the crazy that is K5!  When he walked in we were using shaving cream to practice our numbers.
I remember when Teddy was this age...and it brings tears to my eyes now.  The days seem to have flown by now as I look back!  It wasn't always easy as we trained our children to do right...but I'm so glad we stayed on the right path...because I got to watch my big, tough guy share some time with some pretty special little 5 and 6 years olds today in such a kind and patient way.  Yep...I agree with my little friends..."He is pretty neat!  He is very big!  He is a good soccer player."  Son, thank you!

Another week of fun

My new cheering tool

Teddy and I went shopping.  He pointed out a two-pack of cowbells in the clearance rack...and, of course, I bought them!  Teddy gave me a look and then a list of guidelines on when to use the cowbell.  So...Mari and I got to use them the other night.  We used them the correct way and cheered our guys on in their game...and they knew it was us!  We got so good at the ringing...we stopped at the same time.

Fall is here in all of its glory!

Our neighborhood trees are gorgeous!  We got fun t-shirts for the pre-school group and took a picture.  I am thankful for this group of ladies that I get work with each day.  We have been able to continue our program in person and I am so thankful!  God has been good to protect our school, staff, and students.

A boy and a puppy and a golf ball

Cuddles and licks and wrestles!

Oh the fun we can have at the park!  And you never know what you will find...like a golf ball!

Senior class 2020

Love to see Teddy enjoying the different seasons of his last year!

Our 2020 WCS teacher's retreat to Port Sanilac, MI

We stayed at a beautiful home on Lake Huron!  Uncle Pastor and Mari had yummy meals for us each day.  Wednesday night there were 8 of us...then joined by 2...then by 3 on Thursday morning.

The accommodations were beautiful and comfortable!

The pool was a little chilly but refreshing.
We watched the clouds come with rain.
Thursday morning was sunny and beautiful.  We woke up to geese honking as they floated along the shore.
Breakfast buffet...and endless coffee!

Clear water...lots of sunshine...tons of rocks to look at and throw.
I guess we can say the water level is up.
Uncle Pastor had some good things to share with us.  I enjoy the time listening, learning, and laughing!

The "smart girls" won the Balderdash game!

Fire on the shore and watching the rain clouds come in all around us.
Another game before another session...
Patty and I were not doing so good at their version of Tribond.
Apple pie a la mode...perfect fall dessert with another cup of coffee!
We finished our time together on Friday morning and headed home.  The drive was so pretty as the trees are turning beautiful colors.  Ready to go home to the guys and be with the puppies...and catch up on sleep!
